 By design, bits and cutters are fitted with carbide buttons that have carefully selected profiles that contribute to optimum penetration levels for various drilling conditions. To maintain these profiles as long as possible, much research has gone into developing carbide grades with exceptional wear resistance.

As these carbide buttons wear, however, the drilling machinery must work harder in order to achieve the same drilling and cutting results.

When used in a regular, comprehensive maintenance routine, CME's patented grinding system restores the carbide bits to virtually their original shape, extending both life of the bit, and that of the equipment.
